Vir Chakra– It is the third in the order of gallantry awards and is given for ants of gallantry in the presence of the enemy, whether on land, at sea or in the air.

Vir Chakra was established in 26th January 1950. This respect is given to the soldiers for extraordinary heroism or sacrifice. It can also be given posthumously. In Bravery it comes after Mahavir Chakra.

Winners List of Maha Veer Chakra Award:-

The Maha Veer Chakra (MVC) established on 26th January, 1950 is the second highest Indian military decoration and is awarded for acts of extraordinary gallantry and bravery in war on land, at sea or in the air. The medal is circular and is made of standard silver. Embossed on the obverse is a five pointed heraldic star with circular centre-piece bearing the gilded State emblem in the centre. The words “Maha Vir Chakra” are embossed in Devanagari and English on the reverse with two lotus flowers in the middle.

Gallantry Awards are given for dignity, exceptional courage and valor after independence Indian Government Introduced three Awards namely Param Vir Chakra, the Maha Vir Chakra and the Vir Chakra on 26th January 1950.

Each Republic Day Indian President Give this medal to those who are eligible for this awards.

List of Awards Which is given on 26th January 2018:

President of India total served 390 awards on the occasion of Republic Day the awards include one Ashok Chakra, one Kirti Chakra, 14 Shaurya Chakras and 28 Param Vishisht Seva Medals. Others include four Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 49 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, Ten Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Sena Medals, 86 Sena Medals, one Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry), three Vayu Sena Medals, two Bar to Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 38 Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 13 Nao Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 14 Vayu Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), one Bar to Vishisht Seva Medal and 121 Vishisht Seva Medals.

The Ashok Chakra:

The Ashok Chakra, posthumously awarded to Gaur commando Jyoti Prakash Nurala of Indian Air Force. This is the greatest military honor given at the time of peace. Nirala had killed 03 terrorists alone in an encounter with the terrorists in November 2017 in the Haigen area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kirti Chakra:

Major Vijayant Bisht was announced to give Honor of the Kirti Chakra. Major Vijayant Bisht got information about the infiltration of militants in Uri district of Jammu and Kashmir on June 06, 2017, after which they reached to confrontation with them with his team. Major Bisht saved the lives of a rifle man injured by a bullet and shot a terrorist during a long encounter. Major Bisht is being awarded the Kirti Chakra for his adventures.

Shaurya Chakra:

  • Armed force a total of nine warriors of the Army were honored with Shaurya Chakra. The names of the heroes like Major Akhil Raj RV, Capt Rohit Shukla, Captain Abhinav Shukla, Capt Pradip Sharya Arya, Havaldar Mubarik Ali, Havildar Rabindra Thapa, Nayak Narendra Singh, Lance Naik Badher Hussain and Paratrooper Manchu.
  • Air Force Karporel Devendra Mehta, Air Force Medal Wing Commander Anshul Saxena, Scordron Leader Rajiv Chauhan and Scordron Leader Kamal Sharma were named.
  • In Paramilitary Force two CRPF cobra commandos Vikas Jakhar and Riaz Alam Ansari were announced to be awarded with Shaurya Chakra.

List of Dadasaheb Phalke Award Winners 

The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India’s highest award in Indian cinema industry. It is given annually by the Government of India for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema, to a prominent personality from the Indian film industry for significant contributions to Indian cinema. A committee consisting eminent personalities from the Indian film industry is appointed to evaluate the award.

Introduced in 1969, the birth centenary year of Dadasaheb Phalke (also know as Father of Indian Cinema), who is considered as the father of Indian cinema, award is given to the film personalities for the development of Indian Cinema and for distinguished contribution, growth and promotion. The award for a particular year is given during the end of the following year along with the National Film Awards. The award comprises a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a cash prize of 10 million (increased from 2006) and a shawl.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2016:

Renowned filmmaker and actor Kasinathuni Viswanath is chosen for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2016. The award is conferred by the Government of India for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema. The award shall be conferred by the President of India at a function on May 3 at Vigyan Bhawan.

Winners List of Maha Veer Chakra Award:-

The Maha Veer Chakra (MVC) established on 26th January, 1950 is the second highest Indian military decoration and is awarded for acts of extraordinary gallantry and bravery in war on land, at sea or in the air. The medal is circular and is made of standard silver. Embossed on the obverse is a five pointed heraldic star with circular centre-piece bearing the gilded State emblem in the centre. The words “Maha Vir Chakra” are embossed in Devanagari and English on the reverse with two lotus flowers in the middle.

Gallantry Award Winner list 2018:

Gallantry Awards are given for dignity, exceptional courage and valor after independence Indian Government Introduced three Awards namely Param Vir Chakra, the Maha Vir Chakra and the Vir Chakra on 26th January 1950.

Each Republic Day Indian President Give this medal to those who are eligible for this awards.

List of Awards Which is given on 26th January 2018:

President of India total served 390 awards on the occasion of Republic Day the awards include one Ashok Chakra, one Kirti Chakra, 14 Shaurya Chakras and 28 Param Vishisht Seva Medals. Others include four Uttam Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, 49 Ati Vishisht Seva Medals, Ten Yudh Seva Medals, two Bar to Sena Medals, 86 Sena Medals, one Nao Sena Medal (Gallantry), three Vayu Sena Medals, two Bar to Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 38 Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 13 Nao Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), 14 Vayu Sena Medals (Devotion to Duty), one Bar to Vishisht Seva Medal and 121 Vishisht Seva Medals.

The Ashok Chakra:

The Ashok Chakra, posthumously awarded to Gaur commando Jyoti Prakash Nurala of Indian Air Force. This is the greatest military honor given at the time of peace. Nirala had killed 03 terrorists alone in an encounter with the terrorists in November 2017 in the Haigen area of Jammu and Kashmir.

Kirti Chakra:

Major Vijayant Bisht was announced to give Honor of the Kirti Chakra. Major Vijayant Bisht got information about the infiltration of militants in Uri district of Jammu and Kashmir on June 06, 2017, after which they reached to confrontation with them with his team. Major Bisht saved the lives of a rifle man injured by a bullet and shot a terrorist during a long encounter. Major Bisht is being awarded the Kirti Chakra for his adventures.

Shaurya Chakra:

  • Armed force a total of nine warriors of the Army were honored with Shaurya Chakra. The names of the heroes like Major Akhil Raj RV, Capt Rohit Shukla, Captain Abhinav Shukla, Capt Pradip Sharya Arya, Havaldar Mubarik Ali, Havildar Rabindra Thapa, Nayak Narendra Singh, Lance Naik Badher Hussain and Paratrooper Manchu.
  • Air Force Karporel Devendra Mehta, Air Force Medal Wing Commander Anshul Saxena, Scordron Leader Rajiv Chauhan and Scordron Leader Kamal Sharma were named.
  • In Paramilitary Force two CRPF cobra commandos Vikas Jakhar and Riaz Alam Ansari were announced to be awarded with Shaurya Chakra.

Introduced in 1969, the birth centenary year of Dadasaheb Phalke (also know as Father of Indian Cinema), who is considered as the father of Indian cinema, award is given to the film personalities for the development of Indian Cinema and for distinguished contribution, growth and promotion. The award for a particular year is given during the end of the following year along with the National Film Awards. The award comprises a Swarna Kamal (Golden Lotus) medallion, a cash prize of 10 million (increased from 2006) and a shawl.

Dadasaheb Phalke Award 2016:

Renowned filmmaker and actor Kasinathuni Viswanath is chosen for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award for the year 2016. The award is conferred by the Government of India for outstanding contribution to the growth and development of Indian cinema. The award shall be conferred by the President of India at a function on May 3 at Vigyan Bhawan.

The Saraswati Samman is an annual award for outstanding prose or poetry literary works in any 22 Indian language listed in Schedule VIII of the Constitution of India. It is named after an Indian goddess of learning and is considered to be among the highest literary awards in India.

The Saraswati Samman was instituted in 1991 by the K. K. Birla Foundation. It consists of Rs 15 lakh, a citation and a plaque. Candidates are selected from literary works published in the previous ten years by a panel that included scholars and former award winners. The first Saraswati Samman award was given to Harivanshrai ‘Bachchan’ for his four volume autobiography, Kya Bhooloon Kya Yaad Karoon, Needa Ka Nirman Phir, Basere Se Door and Dashdwar se Sopan Tak.

Jnanpith Award Winners for Literature

Jnanpith Award:

Jnanpith Award is being given for the best creative literary writing by any Indian citizen in any of the languages included in the VIII Schedule of the Indian Constitution. The Award is the brain-child of late Smt. Rama Jain, the first President of and the moving spirit behind the Bharatiya Jnanpith since its inception. It has become the most prestigious literary award of the country. This awards inlude sum of Rs. 11 lakhs including citation.

The Jnanpith Award is the highest literary award in India. It is presented annually by the Bharatiya Jnanpith to an author for their “outstanding contribution towards literature. The Jnanpith Award is given to any Indian writer for his or her outstanding contribution in any of the 18 languages mentioned in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution. It is given for outstanding contribution to creative writing in a specified period of 15 years but excluding the five years immediately preceding the year.

Winner of Jnanpith Award 2017:

Renowned Hindi littérateur Krishna Sobti has been chosen for this year’s Jnanpith Award, the Jnanpith Selection Board announced on 03 November 2017. She was born in year 1925 in Gujarat, now in Pakistan. Sobti (92) is known for experimenting with new writing styles and creating “bold” and “daring” characters in her stories.

The Bharat Ratna is the highest civilian award of the Republic of India. Instituted in 1954, the award is conferred “in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order”, without distinction of race, occupation, position, or sex. The award was originally limited to achievements in the arts, literature, science, and public services, but the government expanded the criteria to include “any field of human endeavour” in December 2011. The recommendations for the Bharat Ratna are made by the Prime Minister to the President, with a maximum of three nominees being awarded per year. Recipients receive a Sanad (certificate) signed by the President and a peepal-leaf–shaped medallion; there is no monetary grant associated with the award. Bharat Ratna recipients rank seventh in the Indian order of precedence.
